There are many arguments regarding this and road tests have somehow pointed to the opposite.

These vehicles are driven by gasoline and electrical power. It uses an on-board rechargeable energy storage system (RESS). There is a significant difference between the powers driving the vehicles. It is for this reason that there are no sports vehicles available as the speed is not significant enough.

The nickel used in the battery can be extracted, recycled and re-used to manufacture other batteries.

The fact that you are able to save the planet by buying one of these would be a bit premature. The hybrid still has emissions and it is therefore not a true zero-emission vehicle. It is however, a more fuel efficient vehicle in terms of what you would save on cost. There is also less emission than with a conventional car as you would be able to use the electrical power most of the time especially in the city.

This vehicle has a complex mechanical system and it will therefore need more specialist servicing and maintenance.
